Life felt it went from going at 100mph to 0 overnight as a result of COVID-19, yet whilst the world came to a standstill, it offered me time to focus on myself and well-being.
Adjusting from attending sixth form five days a week, training six times a week and working at the weekends, to having nothing to fill my days, was a shock to my system.

This new way of life bought an expectation that each day had to be filled productively with learning new skills and soon enough, I found that social media became full of people posting new hobbies they had acquired in lockdown. Whilst it was great to see what people were getting up to in these unusual times, it created a pressure that everyone needed to be constantly improving themselves and their lifestyles.
However, I looked at COVID-19 as the only time in my life that I will not carry any responsibilities, allowing me to relax and fill my days focusing on myself.

COVID-19 enabled me to appreciate living in a seaside town as I could venture on walks with views that carried across the Jurassic Coast and beaches that stretch for miles.

As my mum worked full time during the pandemic, spending time with my dog and surrounding myself in new environments played a huge part in maintaining my happiness and sanity.

Whilst Coronavirus put my life on hold during such significant milestones in my life such as my 18th birthday and completing my A Levels, it taught me to look after myself and to ensure I put myself first even when normality returns and life picks up again.
