Hi, I'm Freya Stanger - welcome to my blog page!

I am currently a second-year journalism student at Portsmouth University. 

​

I grew up in Portland, South Dorset, although I doubt you have heard of this small island! With one road one and one road off, Portland was a unique place to grow up. 

​

My childhood was full of sport - since there wasn't esle much to do. However, sport soon came to be a huge part of my life and I began to take running and swimming more seriously.

In 2019, I competed in the European and World Biathle Championships and came home with gold from both competitions. 

​

Most people presumed I would pursue sport as my career; however, I always knew that researching, writing and telling stories was where my passion burned the brightest. So I decided to fulfil this passion and study journalism at university. 

​

Whilst I may not know what my next chapter will entail, one thing I know for sure is that my degree had set me on the right path to find a career that I know I will enjoy and thrive.
